When Mr. Howard Wigglebottom (Binkow) himself contacted me about taking a look at his books and his website, I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw! The books are written with a great message and the pictures are bright, colorful and adorable! But the website…it is out of this world!! It is so full of great information and fun activities for the kiddos!! There are games, coloring sheets and songs(with words so that the kids can sing along) and each book that Howard has written has a poster and a set of lesson plans that can be downloaded for FREE!! What teacher (or parent) doesn’t LOVE that!!
To purchase books or see the animated versions along with songs and games (all for FREE!), visit TheWeDoListenFoundation.org website.
There’s nothing sweeter than sitting down to read with a child on your lap, but it’s even better when you are anticipating the next page as much as the child. My latest book review, Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns about Sportsmanship, was a cute story filled with vibrant and interesting pictures and context. The words were written large and easy to read, and every single page had a corresponding picture, holding the interest of even the smaller children. In this story, Howard is obsessed with always winning first place at everything. He is finally punished for his poor sportsmanship during a soccer game, and while sitting on the sidelines observing, he sees first hand how ugly it is when someone only cares about winning and not the fun of the game or the interest of the players. As in most children’s stories, Howard learns a valuable lesson and so does your child. But, at the end of the book there are two pages of simple lesson and reflection time, so your child does not lose sight of the lessons after the story is over. You could cover it all in one night, or read one night and save the lesson time for the next night. Either way, this allows for more positive re-enforcement and as a bonus-more snuggling time! Good idea, Howard!!!!
Howard B. Wigglebottom books can be found almost anywhere that books are sold and they normally cost around $15 each. However, if you visit the website, you will find that they are having a great sale! All books are discounted 60% which makes them $6 each or you can buy all 10 of the books for only $50 ($150 value)!! These books would make wonderful gifts! They are beautifully illustrated, hardback books that are appealing to children!
Howard B. Wigglebottom has given Steals and Deals for Kids Fans a chance at winning a book of their choice from the We Do Listen Foundation! There are many great titles to choose from and each book teaches children a valuable lesson!
