The state of Fl. had a lot of rained dumped on it last week, and since school just let out the kids are full of pent up energy. Normally, this would be a combination that would send a mother to the looney bin. Fortunately, I had these “way cool” new cars for my nephew to check out so my sister dropped him off and he was occupied for most of the day. The package was quite difficult to get into, so I do suggest you eat your wheaties and/or raid the tool box for the appropriate screwdrivers to rip the toy from it’s box well before you lure children to the living room with promises of immediate fun, or it will not be so immediate! However, the company has made up for this one hassle with the forethought of including batteries, already installed, in all of the toys that require them. For me, that made the sweat I built up opening the package worth it, plus I just counted it as my cardio workout for the day…. Who am I kidding…for the week!
Anyway, once we began to play the rain was forgotten and my living room turned into a race course between two rival elementary school racing gangs. Toy State was nice enough to send me two cars to review, and they both gave a great representation of quality and imagination that goes into the product brand. We played with the Garage Blazerz, which is a larger car for ages 6+ that features an eye catching light show. The windows have a cityscape pattern that creates the illusion of driving through a city at night. It features LED lights, music and more. This car retails for around $24.99 but looks like so much more, with all of those features!
The second car we reviewed was the much smaller, but still adequate, Custom Riderz. This car held it’s own against the larger one, though of course kids are drawn to the bigger one just because it’s big. However, my nephew was nice enough to let me use the bigger car! He liked the smaller one just fine! It too featured lights, music and sound effects, but did not have the interior light show or the cityscape windows. This car retails for around $9.99 and is a great addition to include with any of the larger ones, but it is substantial enough to be a great gift by itself.
When my niece came by, she wanted to get in on the action, too! I gave her the car I was playing with and the kids had a blast!
The catalog that was sent to me was full of glossy page after page of the toughest Construction tools, emergency rush and rescue vehicles, power sports and Road Rippers and customizing accessories. There was a variety of toys for various age ranges. The entire Toy State line can be seen at www.toystate.com and retail nationwide at Amazon, Toys “R” Us, Wal-Martand K-Mart.
I highly recommend these cars for the future race car driver in your life!
