Gosh…..losing weight for me is hard! I have been on the Nutrisystem program for 5 months and have only lost 15 lbs. Does that mean that Nutrisystem doesn’t work? Heck no!! I love Nutrisystem! It has helped me to learn proper eating – like what to eat and how much of each food group to eat each day. Because of my great start with Nutrisystem (and yes, I am saying GREAT because had I not been on Nutrisystem, I would have gained 15 lbs. instead of losing 15!!) I am motivated to keep doing more and working hard to get healthy!

I am a teacher and my hours each day are long. By the end of the day I do not want to do anything except get home and veg out! But, it’s summertime and guess what? I’m not working right now! So, I have joined a gym, and I even paid for some sessions with a personal trainer. Nutrisystem has absolutely helped me to get myself more focused and motivated to do what I have needed to do for years!

I love this saying that I posted at the top because it is so true! Everyone (including me) wants to know how much weight I’ve lost, how many inches I’ve lost, etc. but I don’t really want to make that my main focus. I just want to get up everyday and do the best I can by making the right choices in the food I eat and by getting in some type of exercise. I don’t love going to the gym but since I’ve been doing it for 3 weeks now, I feel bad when I don’t go. It really is becoming a habit! And that is what I want to do……so that when I start back to work I will just automatically go to the gym to get some kind of workout done before calling it a day. That is what people that are serious about health and fitness do! No excuses…Just Do It!! Yes, I’m focusing on change!!

Nutrisystem: Speaking Words Of Affirmation To Help You Stay On Track #NSNation

Oh my goodness has my life been busy lately!! And I mean CRAZY BUSY!! I am a teacher and these last couple of weeks have been very stressful! Thank goodness for my Nutrisystem Diet Plan because without it I would have eaten everything in sight!! Not that I haven’t cheated some, but not as badly as I would have had I not had a plan in place to follow!!

Still, I’m not where I wanted to be this far into the program. Some of that is my own fault because I have not exercised as much as I should have. I know that I am at that age where the fat is just not going to come off without getting out and moving around more. But at the end of a long, hard day in the classroom, it’s the last thing that I want to do.

With all of that being said, it is this cycle of not staying on track, not exercising like I should and guilt that makes me fall right back into my old habits and stay there. However, along with my Nutrisystem Plan (which helps me have a plan to stick with), I have started speaking words of affirmation to help me stay on track and it is helping me! In the past, my guilt along with my inner thoughts of feeling like I’m no good or don’t deserve to look good, have driven me to eat more food and have that “I don’t care” attitude, when really I do care!!

Affirmations can be really useful tools for weight loss success because they help “turn off” those negative feelings that you have. Affirmations help focus your attention on your goals and help to keep you on track. Using affirmations can help make your weight loss goals a reality.

Most of the time I can find myself focusing more on what is missing in my life and on what I don’t want, rather than what I want to create. I tend to focus on the problem, not on the solution. Affirmations are a form of positive self-talk. Using affirmations will change your negative thinking into positive thinking. With practice you will begin to automatically reframe your negative thoughts into positive, powerfully creative ones.

Another thing that I like to do each day is to start my day in prayer. I am a Christian and I believe that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) After praying, I will write my daily affirmation in my Nutrisystem Food Tracker. This way when I write down what I am eating, I can constantly remind myself of my affirmation of the day and it helps me to stay on track.

Here are some of my daily affirmations:

My health is the foundation of my life and therefore a top priority.
I am willing to do something different to get the results I’m looking for.
I am capable of change and moving forward.
I have the power to change my life.
I will choose today to eat healthy foods.
I am committed to my weight loss goals.
I will eat like a thin person.
I will exercise to release stress and feel better about myself.
I am worth it!!
I am moving in the direction of my dreams.

Try speaking daily affirmations into your life and see if it does not help you. I guarantee that it will because any time that we speak positively to ourselves, it helps to motivate us! I know that if I had not done this the last couple of weeks I would have gained some weight back but because I tried to stay positive, I actually lost 3 more lbs. even in all of the stress!! That’s a total of 16 lbs!

Dear Lord, grant me the willingness to eat what I need, instead of eating what I want, and the wisdom to know the difference! Amen!! 🙂

STAYING MOTIVATED WHILE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT

Being on a diet is hard. Losing weight is hard. But staying motivated is the hardest part of the entire process! Sometimes you just want to give up and in just a few short weeks, you can totally undo all of the hard work you have put into getting fit and healthy!

Nutrisystem has given me a lot of tools to stay motivated and that is one of the reasons that I love the program so much. Once you join Nutrisystem you have access to so their online community which is like having your very own support group! You can meet fellow members that are going through the same trials and tribulations that you are and you can offer support and receive support from one another. I can not tell you how valuable that has been for me!

There is also a place that you can log your goals, weight and measurements to set a starting line and keep your own online journal of success. That helps me stay motivated because I can always look at how far I have come and know that I do not want to turn back now!

These are just a few of the reasons that I love my Nutrisystem program! Not only is it the easiest diet to follow, it has all the tools that I need to succeed!!

Truly, this has not been a great week for me and I have had to use these tools a lot in order to stay on track. I’m so glad that I have had them because the old me would have just turned to food instead of turning for help!
