So…..I just finished my first week on Nutrisystem and of course I had to have the challenge of Halloween candy right in the first week!  But, I am proud of myself!  I have not touched one piece of that candy!! It’s been hard (especially with the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups) but I am determined that I can do this!  I am a teacher too and we had a fall festival yesterday that included cupcakes, cookies and lots of other goodies.  Needless to say, I have had a lot of challenges to get through and I have made it!  So, if I could make it this week, I can do it again next week, right? I am going to have to have that attitude to make it through the holidays with all the temptations all around me.  And that is part of the journey….learning to resist and just say “no”!

I have loved the convenience of knowing what I am going to eat everyday!  No planning, no slipping up because I didn’t have what I needed…Nutrisystem is the easiest thing I have ever done! The food is really good, too!  Can you believe that I have had a doughnut and a cinnamon roll for breakfast this week?  It tasted great with my coffee protein shake…totally didn’t feel like a diet!

As I go along on this journey I will share some of my favorite foods with you. This week I want to tell you about the protein shake I have each morning with my breakfast. I really look forward to it!  I ordered it in coffee and chocolate flavors (they also offer vanilla and strawberry) and I mix mine up in a small blender with ice.  It makes a large amount that way and takes me a while to drink it.  After having that with my breakfast, I am quite full!  Since I am not used to eating breakfast, this is a great way to get my metabolism going and start my day knowing I have made good choices!

Well, now you want to know how much I lost, don’t you? It’s not a huge number (I wanted it to be more) but since I am in the menopausal stage of my life, it is hard for me to lose weight. I know I need to exercise more but I haven’t gotten there yet. I find every excuse not to do it and I know it is something that I am going to have to do.  I’m working on it, okay?!

Anyway, I lost 3 lbs. this week.  I will take it!!  I do feel so much better already!  I have felt a little hungry in the evenings but I know once my body gets adjusted, that will pass.  I haven’t had heartburn one night this week and I have slept much better!

So….if you are looking for an easy way to lose weight and don’t want to have to put a lot of effort or time into it, look into Nutrisystem!  I am loving it!
