Mother’s Day Crafts – Gemstone Frame
This is a Mother’s Day Craft that I enjoy doing with my class every year and I have had more compliments from the Mommies that have received them!
I buy wooden frames from Michael’s Craft Store. I used to spray paint all of them white before doing the project, which is fine if you only have a few to do but if you have a lot of them (like I do with a class) it is not fun!! Last year I tried it without painting it and the results were just fine (like the one pictured)!
I take each child’s picture holding a sign that I made years ago that says “Mom, You Are My Gem”.
I give each student several gem stones of varying sizes and colors. I also give them some sparkly, flower stickers that I also get from Michael’s. Since I did not paint these frames, I let the students decorate them with markers, as well as glue the gems and stickers on.
Here is the final product! I think they are just beautiful, and as I said, mom’s tell me that it is one of their very favorite Mother’s Day gifts! It’s so easy, too! I let each student wrap them, make a card and they are all so proud of the results, that they can hardly wait for the big day to arrive!
