**Some of you have kids starting school today, maybe even for the first time. How are you feeling? Happy, sad, maybe even a little anxious? Well, read on to find out what my friend, Tara, has to say about the situation! Regardless of how YOU feel, I think you will find her take on the situation quite amusing!!
So giddy am I, I feel like a child the day after Thanksgiving, watching as the tree goes up and dreaming of waking to the piles of presents stacked beneath its branches in just a few short weeks.
All of the enchantment of elves and Santa and flying reindeer, all of the excitement over candy canes and cookies and new, unopened toys, bound up in one tiny child who can’t, for the life of her, control her body’s impulses to run and squeal with delight.
Such is my own barely-hidden enthusiasm as the summer moves closer to fall, and the school year beckons anew in just a couple of weeks.
It’s time to buy pencils and paper and crayons and rulers and glue sticks and notebooks and backpacks and lunch boxes and new clothes and new shoes and ….
Wow! That sounds pretty expensive, doesn’t it?
But I don’t care.
I JUST DON”T CARE.
Because the summer has been hard on me, people.
HARD ON ME.
Lazy days of summer? Not here. Not with the Fabulous Four running me ragged and sapping every last drop of energy from my raggedy, weary bones, with their bickering and complaining and their general state of kid-li-ness.
I am in need of some serious peace and quiet.
And this year, I’m gonna’ get me some.
Because I’m not home-schooling this year. And The Sweet Prince is starting school. Which means….Oh, glory be, all my dreams and fantasies are about to come true. Six hours of freedom a day with all four of the Fabuloso’s in school.
I’m so excited, I’m about to don a scarf and hat and go caroling….
