BONEFISH GRILL REVIEW

This is a sponsored post – I received a gift card to eat at Bonefish Grill for my honest review and opinion, which I have given.  I will only endorse products and services that I feel will benefit my readers or that they will enjoy.

I live in a beach town….a town that is full of seafood restaurants.  I have eaten my fair share of seafood from some of the best restaurants with chefs that know how to prepare fresh seafood.  Therefore I did not think that Bonefish Grill would be any different than the others.  Boy, was I wrong!

From the moment my husband and I stepped into the restaurant, I knew there was a different “feel” to this restaurant compared to most of the other restaurants in our area.  The atmosphere was casual, yet trendy with a fancy feel to it.  You were not out of place if you were dressed casually, however you were not out of place if you were dressed up a bit either.  The place was packed so I knew it must be good – in fact we had to wait for 15 minutes and it was only 6:00 p.m.

Our waitress seated us and told us about the specials of the evening.  We were there on a Tuesday evening, so she told us about Tuesday Tales of Lobster night where you can get a lobster tale for only $8.99!!!  They also have several items featuring lobster on Tuesdays like a Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Lobster Roll Sliders!! 

After taking our drink order, our waitress returned with our drinks and some bread with dipping oil…..this is my weakness!!  My, it was good!

My husband and I decided to try out an appetizer to get us started.  We settled on the BFG Imperial Dip. We enjoyed it very much!  It is a creamy dip with crabmeat, shrimp and scallops served with crispy flatbread crackers. 

The menu was full of wonderful, tasty sounding options!  It was hard to decide what to get!  I am a southern girl at heart and I decided on something very simple – the fish and chips.  I have eaten this many times at many different restaurants and sometimes I am very disappointed in the quality of the fish.  But I certainly was not disappointed at BFG!  This fish tasted very fresh and it was cooked to perfection!  The tartar sauce was homemade and when I asked for cocktail sauce, you could definitely tell it was homemade also.  It had some kick to it!! The price for the Fish and Chips was right too – only $12.99!  I will definitely return to enjoy this dish again!

My husband decided to stick with the theme of the night and ordered Steak topped with Lobster Thermidor.  This was a 6 oz wood-grilled sirloin, sweet lobster, lump crab, a velvety sauce with a hint of sherry + garlic whipped potatoes and steamed broccoli. He enjoyed every bite of it and was surprised that this dish only cost $16.99!

Both of our meals were served with a beautiful, fresh salad and the bread, as mentioned above.  We were able to get another order of the bread at no extra charge.

Before going to Bonefish Grill, I had asked several of my friends if they had eaten there and what they liked to order.  Here is what some of them had to say:

Every single one of them said “I love the Bang, Bang Shrimp.  It is delicious!!”

My friend, Alicia said that she loves the Grilled Salmon.

My friend, Kevin enjoys the Mussels.

My friend, Denise says that she loves the Calamari with Asian Dipping Sauce.

And my friend, Debi had a lot to say!  “One of our favorite places ever! Of course the Bang Bang Shrimp (portions have been cut in about 1/2 over the past 2 yrs, and the price has gone up, but that doesn’t stop us!). Grace LOVES their Tilapia with Pan~Asian sauce. It is the only place she will eat fish. Bill always gets their specials, they’re amazing. (Sea Bass is one to never pass up!!!!) I have one of the specials usually. I would like to see a baked potato added to the menu and maybe even some hushpuppies!”

My husband and I will definitely be going back to Bonefish Grill.  It was still a little chilly out when we went, however the weather will be getting warmer and we will sit outside on the patio.  I look forward to that and to trying out some other tasty dishes!

I give Bonefish Grill 2 thumbs up for atmosphere, variety, freshness, service and price!  I felt that Bonefish Grill had a lot more to offer than your typical seafood restaurant and was a nice change of pace.  It made for a great date night with my hubby!
